Medicine Doctor constructing a rattan stool.

This gentleman, who also happens the village's Moh Ja (medicine doctor) is making a stool from rattan and bamboo. The long strands of rattan from the forest have been trained into a circular shape by tying them around a round post set into the ground. He makes the struts connecting the top circle and the bottom circle from Bamboo, and then will weave a seat from stripped rattan. When he's completed a dozen or so, he'll walk to town (4 hours for him, 6 for me) and sell them on the market.
