One rural school had built a dormitory (supported by aGerman donor), so that the children from remote Akha villages could stay thereduring the week, and go home over the weekend. A long building 85 boys oneside, 12 girls the other side. There still is a gender gap in educationalopportunities, but progress is being made. There is a kitchen next to the dormitory, but it is very basic. The boys played soccer, the girls a string jumping game (a bit of a challenge when you wear a long skirt)
