A village we visited when on a survey with a few friends and guides, trying to find new places to bring tourists to on a trek in the hills. This village lies about 4 hours trekking uphill from Ban Kongkham. Ban Khonkham itself is about 8 hours by boat downriver from Luang Namtha.
When we arrived in ban Khoup, we were told they had never had foreigners visit their village. The peopel were very hospitable, and after a brief initial shyness, very happy to be photographed. This woman especially really enjoyed it, since she could see her picture later on the back of my camera.
All villagers I photograph here receive a copy of their photo a few weeks or months later.
